Seville & Malaga 2009 - Part I
Travelling and exploring Andalucia
This summer we had the opportunity to explore a little the region of Andalucia, in Spain. We were absolutely blown away by the beautiful architecture and urbanism of both Seville and Malaga. Such beauty has to be shared! So in two parts I will be indeed my experience hoping that it may tickle your fancy to visit these wonderful places too.

This June thanks to a wedding invite we were able to discover this enchanting region of Spain. Seville the first city we landed in. Founded by the Romans, it grew and explanded along the banks of the river Guadalquivir, endured many barbaric invasions, all of which influenced its architecture as much as the romans, and all through history. Very evident is the arab influence, product of over 500 years of occupation by the Moors. The intricacy and detail is rather wonderful.

The architecture also reflects and closely develops from the local climate, narrow streets shelter from the heat and sun in the summer and glazed balconies extend the internal spaces of apartments even in (mild) winter.
