Karim Rashid vs. Contempo
Karimi Couch

Though he may have the odd hater, you have to respect the amount of pieces that K-Rad (that's right, you heard it here first) pumps out these days.

Of note for me has to be his latest sofa design for Italian manufacturer Contempo. The appropriately coined Karimi Couch stays true to the style that has been Karims bread and butter with the usage of his mainstay patterns consisting of his familiar "cross and peanut" motif.

Now I know some of you are moaning and groaning about this well travelled route, but really people what would you rather see him do ? A village pattern ?

K-Rad
I'd rather not see anything else designed by this clown. I've never heard or seen a bigger ego maniac who "thinks" he's saving the world with design. What's he birthed with this sofa? Another piece of crap. Who REALLY thinks this is interesting...and that the world needs it?

Agreed
He needs to focus on quality — not quantity — and really needs to consult with someone possesing talent to improve his sad use of color and graphics. Karimi: what an egotistical joke. Uggh.

read between the lines
KARIM IS AN EXCEPTTIONAL TALENT THAT IS FRESH AND FORWARD THINKING. HIS USE OF ORGANIC LINE AND BOLD COLORS MAKES HIM ONE OF A KIND AND i THINK WE ALL CAN TAKE A FEW LESSONS FROM HIM IN DESIGN. HE DARES TO STEP OUT OF THE BOX AND FOR THAT I GIVE HIM PROPS.

Don't forget to button your coat
I own a few of Rashid's pieces. I am a fan of his, but seriously this couch looks like a bored housewife went crazy on her sewing machine. I think that my mom made some sweat pants with a similar pattern. Put a couple doilies on the armrests and this thing would be perfect.
