The jury considered over 500 entries and selected 32 projects to receive awards. The awards will be presented on October 9 at the ASLA Annual Meeting in Minneapolis.

Pool cabana with new covered terrace at pool deck. Play lawn juts out into the desert. Sun control was a major emphasis of new design work. All windows are protected by shading devices with native trees as backup.

The Chess Park with its 28' tall chess towers, as seen from the adjacent parking garage located just west of Brand Boulevard. The passageway was initially created to provide passage from the garage to Brand Boulevard and the nearby Alex Theater.

An environmental installation of columns tells the story of martial art (gong fu), for which the town Huangyan is famous. The columns allow water to drain during the flooding season and create a lively atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
