Stainless steel bathtubs
Looking for a bathtub that is sustainable, easy to maintain and drop dead gorgeous? Stainless steel might be just what you are looking for. Stainless steel tubs come in a variety of shapes and styles that can be paired with other materials like enamel and wood. They are a good conductor of heat, and will keep the water warmer for an extended period of time. They are also corrosion resistant and should not rust. Stainless steel tubs are not mass produced, so they can be expensive and many people opt for having them custom made to suit their needs. Stainless tubs are generally in the $7,000 to $17,000+ (US) range, which is not exactly pocket change, but if you are looking for something sustainable, durable and different it might just be worth the investment.

Uhh--regarding your description 'They are a good conductor of heat, and will keep the water warmer for an extended period of time'--a good conductor of heat will draw heat *away* from the warm water...

I fail to understand use of the term "sustainable". Steel is not a sustainable material. It uses raw materials that cannot replaced. It uses a lot of energy, which cannot be replaced, entropy and all. And it is much more difficult to fabricate than aluminum (which is why it costs 3x as much)... Not only is stainless not sustainable, but this product isn't either! Because this product is not made commonly, the consumer also uses up energy for transportation to the site. If you want to say it's sustainable because you can recycle it... forget it; throw in more energy; steel has a high melting point, that energy will not be reclaimed. I'll say it's sustainable only if you say that this is an heirloom piece... because it'll take a lot of cheap tubs to pay for the energy (not to mention economics) involved in making one of these!

Looking for Moden Bath Basin Cabinet
Think that I'm leaning toward the Agape Deep tub and one of their basins which match. However, I'm not sure how I'm going to mount the basin. Would like to find a simple, modern cabinet mount in black walnut. Anyone know of anything? Keithan

Perhaps I am not understanding right but it seems like what you say is a contradiction.

love stainless
we use a stainless steel tank with a chofu wood fired outside hot tub setup. wonderful!. no stains with our mineral-filled well water. our tank is insulated with wrap-around layer of figid foam covered with cedar. has lasted for 15+ years, holds heat very well. and expect to have tank in use forever. want to buy/have built smaller version for indoor use - you should plan on some form of insulation to hold heat -a surround or built in with insulation surrounding tub but otherwise you can't beat for long use . could save $$s by finding a stainless steel fabricator in local area to custom build tank - we had great fabricator build stainless kitchen cabinets for our kitchen.
