The work of textile artist Elisa Markes-Young has an organic quality that is tactile, irregular and beautifully expressive. A Poland native currently residing in Perth, Markes-Young uses natural fibers to create works that explore themes from nature like germination and the patterns of growth and decay. The result is at times rough, but manages to accentuate the complexity and fragility of nature.
