Autoban
It's all about the Turkish ply, baby
Seyhan Özdemir and Sefer Çağlar are multidisciplinary designers based in Istanbul, not Constantinople... ahem. Their work covers the gamut: architecture, interior design and product design

Their temporary website shows a range of cool furniture and lighting designs. We're are particularly impressed with their wide array of plywood furniture. Fun stuff, and we're looking forward to seeing more from Autoban when they get around to finishing their new website. Their new website is now up!

Is Speedy Sleepy ???
I checked out 'Speedy' on www.cor3.gr. It's the exact same chair as 'Sleepy'. Are they somehow connected ? If not then what gives ?

The same?
Well, one is a rocking chair, the other is not. One has a padded seat (and back?), the other does not. One has a image of a completed product, the other does not. Both are a very simple chair form with some subtle similarities and differences. But the same? Doesn't seem that way to me... but perhaps there is some kind of rivalry going on here that I know nothing about.

pretty close.
You're right. It does look like they took the Speedy chair and added the rockers at the bottom and filled the back rest opening and eliminated the cusion. The 2 of them together look like they're part of the same line. The again, this is nothing new in design today.

sleepy vs speedy
Generally speaking, chairs have four legs and two arms... And if Sleepy looks exactly the same as Speedy like you said, then it also looks quite the same as The Club chair by Philippe Starck.

Speedy
It does look quite the same, it's not a rivalry it could be a coincidence but they do look the same. It’s just strange when things like that happen. They don’t look like the The Club chair by Philippe Starck.

lookalike 'new' designs
Well if you generalize chairs as '4 legs and two arms' then all designs are lookalike. In autoban's case, most of their designs look like something else. It's sad (and bad) when you really don't have anything new to show and you are very proud of this...

sleepy design year 2003 - redesign 2005
sleepy is not speedy as sleepy was designed in 2003 and speedy in 2004 People think it's quite easy to pinpoint without 'proper' research. Btw the designs of Autoban212 are much more improved and tasteful/stylish so maybe it's the other way around
