Today is Festivus, and just before we take off for some Festivus r+r, we would like to share in the traditions of the season with you, our dear Land+Living readers.

Both of us here at Land+Living would like to thank you for visiting our site. We hope you like what you have seen, and please continue to visit as we grow and evolve. THE POLE
It's time to display the pole, everybody. If you don't have the traditional aluminum pole in the crawl space, drive on down to your local building supply center and pick one up from the building supplies department. Of course, we like the pole because of its clean lines and extreme modernity in addition to its "very high strength-to-weight ratio." And, since we are a design blog, we would like to take this opportunity to show you the range of finishes that are available. We recommend the simple, honest galvanized finish. Think about perhaps dressing up your pole this year with a simple dome or acorn post cap... it just sets the pole off so nicely.

THE AIRING OF GRIEVANCES
And now, dear friends... it is time to begin the festivities with the Airing of Grievances:

• Design Sites (you know who you are): just because you can do Flash doesn't mean you should. We may like your products and designs, but some websites are a bit over the top. The overly tricked out Flash just detracts from what we are actually trying to look at: YOUR WORK. There is an adage that "less is more." Please acquaint yourself with the concept.
• FurnitureFinder.us: wtf?!?!!? Really... high jacking RSS feeds and providing no credit. Sheesh. Stephen... dood... don't be such a tosser.

THE FEATS OF STRENGTH
And now it is time to close this Festivus celebration with the traditional Feats of Strength, with Grace from Design*Sponge officiating. This year we select MoCoLoco! Come forward for the Feats wrestling match... unless you have another appointment, of course. ;-)

THE GIFT
As you know, there are no gifts given during Festivus. But, this being Land+Living's first Festivus, we thought that it may be appropriate... just this once... to offer this suggestion: go ahead and buy yourself one of these and think of Land+Living fondly every time you look at it.
