Wheat straw wall panels
The green alternative to drywall with 10x the strength
"From floors to ceilings, walls to roofs, Durra Building Systems' breakthrough products deliver a better way to build."

"Starting with a long overlooked agricultural byproduct, Durra creates an innovative and environmentally sound building material. The patented Durra process uses both high heat and extreme pressure to coax out the fiber's resins, which act as a strong and permanent bonding agent. Durra dry extrudes and finishes the panels with a strong, water-resistant liner paper."

sounds great but a few questions... please answer what you can
Where is it available in (western) Canada, and what would one expect to pay for it? I have never seen this product at any lumber yard or hardware/building store. Also, is it a smooth finish that can be filled smooth between panels, or is it a texture finish (I am thinking it might be like O.S.B.) that would require exposed edges or some sort of trim between panels? Even further, what lengths can it be purchased in? I have heard that the environmental options to drywall can only be used to a maximum height of 10 ft in one span. I am very interested in this and other alternative building products. Any information (especially manufacturer/wholesaler info) is greatly appreciated.

Rewiring in the future
When this material has been installed for 25 years and the property needs a rewire, how do you channel, fix new mow boxes etc
