SERI is a Vancouver based design / manufacture group that explores the making of modern furniture.
Recognizing the need for space in increasingly urban enviroments, SERI products are tailored in scale and proportion. We create furniture that is modern yet draws on traditional materials and techniques using only solid sustainable hardwoods in our pieces. This demands attention to the natural properties of the material such as movement, grain pattern and colour variation. Our product is reserved in form in order to emphasize the expressive qualities of the timber with a view to producing furniture that has a sense of history and context. Traditional cabinet making techniques and careful engineering solutions allow us to enhance the beautiful qualities of these hardwoods in while respecting the nature and value of the materials.
