"Greenwood Gardens adjoins South Mountain Reservation, a 2100-acre land preserve to the west, developed by the Olmsted firm in the early twentieth century. With an elevation of approximately 440 feet, views from the Greenwood Gardens encompass this gently rolling topography. A network of nineteenth-century stone walls crosses the forested hillsides of the reserve suggesting an earlier agricultural use. The property was undoubtedly a part of this agrarian landscape prior to its use as a residence."
