Integrated kitchen components
We've admired the high quality kitchen systems designed by Seattle-based Henrybuilt for many years. Henrybuilt offers an American alternative to the sleek European kitchen systems we drool over.
The latest expansion to the line--the Workspace Component Group--builds on their well conceived backsplash panel system adding smart functionality. The components are a set of sculpted functional blocks: a cutting board, colander, and knife block. Like the existing accessories in the system, these components are designed to integrate with Henrybuilt's customizable backsplash panel system offering flexibility in configurations and changing needs. The colander and cutting board not only store neatly on the backsplash, but are designed to function with Henrybuilt's recessed countertop sink and drainboard.
Additional components are in the works as well.

A funny thing happened while browsing though the many aisles of Hot Property, a mecca for things Modern in the city of Toronto, I spied some glass containers that were in a locked cabinet. I have been on the hunt for glass containers, with plastic getting so much bad press these days, and inquired as to their price. The shop-keep told me that while he wasn't sure of their exact price, they were in fact "thousands, and thousands of dollars". It turns out that they were original Wilhelm Wagenfeld Kubus stacking containers from ca. 1935. 
When designing a kitchen every decision can be agonizing and time consuming, so why complicate things? Sometimes simplicity rules, and in this regard Newform faucets stand out. Newform pares down the faucet to its most basic form, and then exploits the angles with details that are conspicuously constructivist. Handles that operate left to right instead of back to front, and spouts that jut out at 90 degrees are just some of the differences between Newform and the competition. 
Based on the date of our last entry in the kitchen category -- and the, *sigh*, general lack of entries -- it would appear that we've been neglecting one of our favorite rooms in the house. Well, now that we've found this wonderfull kitchen island from Time & Style, we're hoping that will change. This island features a built-in range and sink with all plumbing and gas lines built into the legs. An extendable top board is included and a pull-out counter is also available as an option. Materials include stainless steel and walnut.

This combination sink/dishwasher is perfect for small kitchens and washes with half the water in half the time of traditional dishwashers. The lid can be used as a cutting board or removed for a full function double sink.
