Modular, "low impact" temporary walls
Perfect for renters, loft-dwellers and the restless, the Nomad System (not to be confused with the Nomad Desk) is a modular system that can be assembled like a giant children's toy into free-standing sculptural screens, temporary partitions, rooms or displays without hardware, tools or alterations to existing structures. Designed by Jaime Salm & Roger Allen, the system is made from recycled, double-wall cardboard, and comes in six colors.
Nomadic lifestyles and the desire for flexible space inspired the creation of Nomad. Designed to grow and adapt to any environment and a range of applications, Nomad Architectural System translates the tools of architecture into simple modules that anyone can use.
One 24 Module Set sells for $56 and creates a 3 ft x 4.5 ft wall section.... not outrageous, but definitely an investment to create a wall of any significant size.

An integrated noticeboard that documents activity within a space
A functional wallpaper designed by Duncan Wilson in collaboration with Sirkka Hammer Sirkka Hammer... and Duncan Wilson? Now we're not sure... anyway. the once collaborative team of Duncan Wilson and Sirkka Hammer, Pixelnotes is comprised of a grid of post-it-note-like sheets with four layers of graduated grey tones mounted over a bright primary backing. The result is a constantly changing grided matrix as notes are written and removed revealing different layers. "Pixelated formations and shapes develop according to our patterns of use."

2005 Collection highlights
Christopher Paul rugs have been updated for 2005 with bold contemporary graphics and clean styling.
Our rugs combine contemporary
aesthetics, bold graphics and clean styling
for a unique design element in any setting.
Each design is available in custom colors.
We can also customize a design
especially for you.
Our rugs are very low maintenance. Care
and maintenance is much like caring for
hardwood flooring. Simply wipe clean with
a damp cloth. Occasionally give your rug
a good cleaning with a mild cleanser such
as Murphy's Oil Soap. Abrasive cleansers
are not recommended as they can
damage the protective finish. In addition,
our rugs are a great consideration for
those whose health is adversely affected
by traditional floor coverings.

I stumbled across the website of Nani Marquina just by chance while doing some random Google searches. Their collection features rugs and cushions (along with a pair of slippers) by several designers. However it was their rugs that caught my eye with their bold geometric shapes and aesthetic lines.
Nani Marquina's rugs are handmade with 100% New Zealand wool. Their rugs are not crafted with child labor and they are a member of Care & Fair, an organization that fights against illegal child labor in the manufacturing sector of handknotted carpets.

Street graphics meet Nepalese textile traditions
An unlikely pairing creates some very nice results in Rugged Art's collection of hand knotted carpets designed by young graphic artists such as Romon Kimin Yang and José Parla. Not to mention the fact that the prices (while not cheap) seem to us to be very reasonable for this kind quality.
Founded by London based antique textile specialist Nat Turner, and collaborating with some of World's most exciting graphic artists, RuggedArt has launched a groundbreaking new collection of hand knotted rugs, available in limited editions of ten.
Instead of Ephemeral art on a wall, or hollow conceptual statement, RuggedArt rugs are a painting for your floor, a strikingly beautiful piece of furniture.

Wallpaper collection
"Created by Amsterdam-based interior and landscape designer Petra Blaisse, Touch explores the relationship of interior space to the limits of the walls which contain it and expresses those boundaries as soft, sensual and ambiguous ‘edges’.
In aiming to create depth within the two-dimensional wall surface, Blaisse engages a play with layers, unexpected materials, natural and artificial colors, as well as an exaggeration of scale to indicate unusual contexts. Photographic prints of soft materials, based on previous textile design testing, are transformed in the medium of printed vinyl."
All inks & adhesives used are waterbased.

"Investigation into mistakes, miss-prints and ink-cartridge tests with printers."
The Nozzle Check Rug by young Belgian designer Sylvain Willenz is a witty design inspired by the utility of standard ink jet printers. We've hung a bunch of test sheets on the office wall before just for the heck of it, but we never thought of putting them on the floor. Nice.

Ball chain curtains... very groovy, baby.
We saw this at a new restaurant recently... like Greg Brady's attic bedroom that we were always so jealous of, but way more sexy. It's just a chain of metal balls, nothing new here, but the application... ah the application of the system. It can be used for a wide variety of effects and purposes as demonstrated on their website, and is available in a range of sizes, colors, textures, finishes and track configurations. Does it make you randy, baby?

Handmade Rugs
"Based on original copyrighted designs, Emma Gardner's rugs are handmade using two different techniques according to their characteristics and best expression: hand-knotting and hand-tufting. Most of the designs are hand-drawn. Some are then painted in gouache, while others are enhanced or colored on the computer. Once a line of designs has been created, several color ways are developed for each rug using the harmonious color palette created for the overall line giving multiple dimensions to each of the design concepts."
