Homeland, Sigur Rós
Simply incredible and superbly shot landscapes and places in Iceland... a "desolate, magical place where human beings have little right to trespass."

Young Folks
Extremely catchy tune and video by Swedish pop act Peter Bjorn and John.
The act's third album Writer's Block was released in the U.S. today and accompanied by a stellar review over at Allmusic Guide.
This is quite easily THE best pop album in years.

Former SNFU lead comes out swinging

It's been sometime now since Canadian punk icons SNFU closed shop much to the dismay of their rabid fanbase (yours truely included). But for those jonesing for some new material can swing by Mr.Chi-Pig's Myspace site for a taste of a few solo tracks.
Those expecting the high tempo/angst of SNFU will be somewhat surprised at Chi's offerings. Though abit quirky at times I have to say this seems to be a deliberate departure from what we normally would come to expect from him.
Great tracks, but fingers still crossed for yet another reunion tour !

The Saints Are Coming
Hot off the heels of their performance in New Orleans a few weeks back, U2 and Green Day's video for The Saints Are Coming is now making it's way accross the net.
The video depicts a fictional storyline where the US Government redeploys Iraqi based troops to Katrina ravaged New Orleans. The fictional news footage is pretty amazing and somewhat uplifting at times, but ultimately sad knowing how the story actually played out.
Makes you wish MTV played videos again as opposed to airing re-runs of Cribs.

Volume 2

Seattle radio station KEXP has released another fantastic compilation of live in-studio recordings.
We’re proud to introduce Live at KEXP Volume 2, a collection of exclusive tracks recorded live in the KEXP studios!
We did our best to capture the spirit and vibrancy of KEXP, and the magic and intimacy of the in-studio performances. This CD exemplifies the wide and deep mix of musical styles we play - from local artists to international stars; from well-established icons to up- and-coming legends; from major label artists to Skullbot, a trio of high school students from Stanwood, Washington.
As always the station pulls through with another solid list of artists including Sleater-Kinney, The Decemberists, Editors, Death Cab for Cutie and M.I.A..
Full tracklisting after the jump.

Album design up for grabs

Fans of Beck will be given the chance to design his forthcoming album cover however they want.
Slated for an October 2nd release The Information will be available in a blank package that comes with a sticker sheet to allow fans to create the albums look as they see fit. From there fans can then enter their creations into a contest that will be judged by Beck himself and eventually put on display at a venue TBA.
The Information is the follow-up to 2005's Guero and remix version Guerolito.
