CA Boom 3 is just a month away - UPDATED

"The West Coast Independant Design Show"
We've been covering CA Boom since it's inception, and we're looking forward to their third effort being held Thursday, March 23 to Sunday, March 26, 2006. It's a design show of a different stripe, where both professionals and consumers are invited. Here's the deal:
Three & half days of cutting edge design including tours from leading contemporary architects of recently completed projects, exhibits from independent designers, architects & manufacturers, panel discussions whose participants are the leaders and innovators of the contemporary design community and kicking off with a rocking design community opening night event.
The highlight of the show are the home tours - 5 homes per day. All but two one of the homes have been announced and we have listed the tour details and other show info after the jump.

Exhibition
CA Boom 3 will feature the exhibition area with many designers and vendors as usual.

New this year will be the "First Timer Area" where 20+ design newcomers will receive their first major exposure. We'll be there seeing what's hot...

Prefab has figured into both shows, but this year there will be a special "fabprefab Zone" where you can meet the actual Prefab Designers and Manufactures. There looks to be a pretty good showing with the following participants already signed up:
Marmol Radziner Prefab, Clever Homes, ECOcontempo by Northern Steel, Living Homes, iT house, KitHaus, Hive Modular, Sander Architects Hybrid House.

Opening Night
So says CA Boom, the "Design Community Opening Night Goes Public" which means it is open to all. The opening party will be held on Thursday, March 23 from 7:30 to 10:30 and costs $40. Price includes drinks, dinner buffet (there was ton of food last year), DJ entertainment and a sneek peek at the exhibitons. The first year had some buzz, but went bust with the lack of refreshments, last year had the goods, but didn't have the vibe. Here's hoping third time is the charm with everything coming together! The booze is free-flowing people... show up and make it happen.
