Starck does Puma

Line of shoes by master of design Philippe Starck
Starck's theory of evolution... he forgot the part about the pocket-lining-monkeys.
This shoe collection is modern because it includes all the technology we now know... but without having to show it - because we don't need to show it!
These shoes are based not on design, not on showing off, not on more and more and more features, but on showing less and less and less. It means more technology, more intelligence, but less styling. This is the secret of the product of tomorrow.
Starck, you so crazy.

That presentation is like Morpheus from the Matrix telling you that the Matrix has you. But THEN it turns out that Morpheus is gettng kick backs from the Architect to sell you want you think you want! I think I might need a pair of those ;-)

Is it me, or do they look like garden clogs ? Case of people getting excited more about the name attached to the product.

I'm sorry (for those without taste); those are the ugliest shoes i've ever seen, they'll be about as big a hit as kareem rashids' glass chess set.... sitting on the shelves until you can scoop them up for 10.99. Puma would've been better off with some sub-par nike designers.

Too Cool (yet too expensive!)
Posted by Lou in New England on 8/26/2005 6:33:00 AM

Saw these in San Francisco around 6-04-05 at the Puma Store for around $250 a pop. On 8-21-05 saw them again this time at the Puma Outlet in Maine for $15!!! They look beter up close than any of these pictures indicate. They are very comfortable, but were only available in off white at the time. I doubt that they sold very well, hence the major price slash.

agree with john

Just because your name is Starck, doesn't mean it's gonna be a winner everytime.

You're right John, a sub-par Nike designer would have done a better job.

The high ones have that original Star Trek look. One for each uniform color, even the red shirted crew member that always gets killed when they beam down to some uncharted planet.
